Paserbumi Dog Food™ Food Philosophy

One of the best ways to improve your dog’s health is through diet. There are many high-quality cbd treats for dogs, kibbles and canned foods available on the market but feeding your dog a fresh, home-prepared diet can go a long way to improving health and lengthening life. Home-prepared means you research the recipes for appropriate nutrition, do the shopping, prepare the ingredients, and do the cooking and packaging. A home-prepared diet uses fresh ingredients that you would buy at a grocery or farmer’s market. The foods are used raw, or are lightly cooked to preserve nutrients and to ease their  digestion. The prepared food is then cooled to immediately feed your pet, or is refrigerated or frozen for freshness and later use.  Variety and balance over time are the key factors in a home-prepared diet. Paserbumi Dog Food™ fresh meals and calming treats for dogs are developed based on the principles of a home-prepared (or home-cooked) diet.  But we do all the work on your behalf!

Paserbumi Dog Food™ Variety

Contrary to popular belief, you should switch your dog’s food on a regular basis. Unless your companion is on a restricted diet for health reasons, it is a good thing to feed a variety of fresh, healthy foods in appropriate amounts. Dogs bodies are designed to consume a wide variety of different foods to maximize the vitamins and minerals contained in the freshest sources.

Feeding the same food, year after year, can actually negatively affect your dog’s health. Since there is no perfect food for every dog, rotating food ensures that there are no dietary deficiencies. It also helps prevent food boredom.

Most importantly, providing a variety of foods is HUGE in preventing the development of allergies. You do not need to buy special formulated dog food for allergies if you feed them a variety of high quality proteins, vegetables and fruits, you avoid constant exposure to the same ingredients and the development of allergies to those ingredients.

With a home-prepared diet, variety is ESSENTIAL. While most dogs benefit from a home-prepared diet, not every dog with health problems gets better.

A home-prepared diet done correctly can help improve a myriad of issues such as weight problems, Irritable Bowel Disorder (IBD) and digestive disorders, allergies, seizures, skin and ear problems, arthritis – the list is long.  Appetite, skin and coat quality, and energy levels are the best indicators as to whether or not any diet is compatible with your individual dog’s body.

Paserbumi Dog Food™ Balance Over Time

We approach balance from two different aspects:  rotating among different formulas over several weeks and utilizing Food Energetics to help balance the body.

Just like our own meals, balanced nutrition comes with a variety of foods, over the period of a few days or weeks.  Since each food has different nutrients, no single food can meet the nutritional needs of every dog.  Therefore, the best way to achieve overall health is to incorporate various meats (including organ meats), vegetables, fruits and some healthy grains into your dog’s diet.  By feeding a few different grain free dog food  formulations (see Feeding Recommendations), you can be certain that your dog is getting all the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients needed for a healthy life.

Healthy Food For Dogs with Allergies

Allergies are painful to both your pets and owners and they are tough to deal with. Dog allergies can be a result from their diet or from their surrounding environment. Some examples of environmental allergens include mold, dust, and pollens. Your furry friend may also be “sensitive” to certain type of food. Most common allergy symptoms include scratching, itching, red inflamed skin and sometimes red, running eyes. Grain free dog food contains more protein. Grain-free foods for dogs have more protein than those with the grain. However, the tricky part about these types of dog food is that some grains substitutes can be unsuitable for specific breeds. Most commercial dog food manufacturer companies use legumes and potatoes to replace rice and corn. Although these plant-based ingredients are nutritious, they are lacking some essential amino acids we find in true meat protein. Therefore, most dog experts recommend feeding grain-free dog foods in which meat remains the primary protein source.   One of the best ways to tackle pet allergies is choosing the right diet for your beloved pup. Avoid food that trigger the allergy. For example, go for chicken-free for salmon diet if your furry friend is sensitive to chicken.

Dog Fostering Appeal

We would like to encourage more dog parents to open up your homes to foster a dog. Fostering dog is a critical part of the dog rescue and there are never enough foster homes for all of the dogs that need them. Why do dogs need foster homes? Because pounds are overcrowded and they are not mandated to save dogs, but rather to control the canine population. In most cases controlling means euthanizing, sometimes even gassing. The more people who volunteer to foster, the more dogs we can save. Fostering gives dogs a chance to socialize with people, other dogs and animals, to know a loving home, sometimes for the first time ever, and it gives us time to properly assess the perfect family for each dog. Each dog that finds a foster family is one less dog senselessly euthanized. Fostering saves lives.

Fostering a dog is a commitment on a precious life. Are you able to provide a stable home for the rest of his/her life? Please THINK before you foster one and bring the dog home.

THE FIRST DAY

Before entering your house, put the dog on a leash and walk the dog outside your house, or your apartment building. Let the dog take in the smell of the turf and allow him to relieve himself. Find a special spot and let him potty there. You have to remain patient, as it may take more than 15 minutes to 30 minutes. When he relieves or poop in the right place, always praise him warmly to show your approval.

Next, enter your home. Continue to keep him on the leash when you show him around your home. If he lifts its leg, give him a quick leash correction (a quick yank of the leash, immediately letting it go slack) and tell him “No” to interrupt the action, and then take it outside immediately. Introduction of your dog to all members of the family should be carried out on lead.

INTRODUCING YOUR NEW DOG TO OTHER DOGS

Prior to the introduction, leash-walk the new dog outside. Then bring out the other dog(s) on leash, making sure you are relaxed. Make the introduction meeting positive and fun with some calming treats for dogs. Introduce gradually and calmly. You can bring the dogs inside after the introduction on a neutral territory.
